The Dutch League DBL has announced that it is to enlarge the national championship as 10 teams will take part in the competition next season. All current nine participants will be in the fight again and will be joined by newcomer Dutch Windmills Dordrecht, a club founded in 2016, raising the number of clubs in the competition to ten for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

The League is now working in the schedule, but it's been decided that eight teams will advance to the playoffs after the regular season
